While Big Tech has become seemingly untouchable, even from the US Supreme Court or Whitehouse, the same culture of supremacy, greed, lack of accountability, lack of transparency, and lack of responsibility seems to have created and sustained an environment in South Africa where IT negligence is acceptable, and lack of accountability is the norm, even when it comes to government institutions, contracts and tenders.

Two-thirds of South Africans believe that corruption has increased in the past year, and half (49%) believe that it has “increased a lot.” Furthermore, a survey shows that people not only think that corruption has gotten worse under Ramaphosa, but also recognize that a large part of the elected officials and civil servants, who should be fighting corruption, are involved in corrupt activities themselves.

The Department of Correctional Services have freed Jacob Zuma after receiving the medical report, but have not provided further details of the report. The prisons service placed former President Jacob Zuma on medical parole, less than two months into his 15 month sentence for contempt of court.

Police had barely left when there were armed black attackers in their kitchen! Either the terrorists are not afraid of police, or the police are complicit? Gerald van Jaarsveld (32) was shot six times by black attackers during the house invasion in Brakpan, on 29 July 2021. He then fought bravely for his life for 2 weeks, in the Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital, but lost his battle for survival and died at the hospital on Saturday morning, August 14, after contracting an infection in the hospital. Sadly this is nothing new, we are experiencing a silent genocide disguised as ordinary crime and poor service delivery.
